Total Equine LNSC

Total Equine LNSC logo

The same feed. Formulated for the horse that can’t handle starch and sugar.

If your horse is insulin resistant or needs a low-starch, low-sugar diet, you don’t have to give up the feed that works. Total Equine® LNSC™ is built on the same fixed formula as Total Equine® — with the fiber-to-carbohydrate ratio adjusted for the metabolic horse.

Most low-starch feeds ask you to trade nutrition for safety. Total Equine® LNSC™ doesn’t. It starts from the same base mix that has never changed since its creation, then adjusts the ratio of fiber to carbohydrate so horses that need to stay away from starch and sugar get everything else Total Equine® delivers. Same nutrition philosophy. Same complete feed — no supplements needed. And you can’t colic a horse with any version of Total Equine®.

NSC means non-structural carbohydrates: the sugar and the starch in a feed, added together. Total Equine® LNSC™ is guaranteed at 15% NSC maximum, so one number covers both.

Light, highly digestible kibble — more of every bag becomes nutrition instead of waste. Easier to chew, safer to feed, from weanlings to hard-keeping seniors.

Minerals bonded for absorption, so they end up in your horse — not on the ground. Stronger hooves, better coats, real mineral nutrition that actually gets used.

Ascophyllum nodosum, harvested from cold North Atlantic waters. A natural source of trace minerals and bioactive compounds that support gut health — in every Total Feeds formula since day one.

  • My Mare has cushions and she is doing so well on this Feed. Her attitude has improved., her weight has been maintained can’t say enough about this Feed.

  • This is the best feed. I have been feeding it for almost 2 years. It has helped with coats, feet and even a horse that had severe sweet itch. It is good for my old horse who has teeth issues ( I soak it) and pre Cushing’s. Can’t say enough good about this feed. The regular feed (non low starch) is excellent too and I can switch between the two with no gastric issues. Thrilled that chewy has it. Makes it super easy to get

This number describes the feed, not your horse’s diet. Total-diet NSC depends on everything your horse eats — mostly hay or pasture, which makes up the overwhelming share of intake. Contact us and our consulting nutritionist will run the numbers for your horse’s specific diet.

The base mix is the same. The difference is the ratio of fiber to carbohydrate, adjusted to lower the starch and sugar the horse takes in. Everything that makes Total Equine work is still there.

The number that matters isn’t the one on a bag — it’s the NSC of your horse’s total diet, because that’s what your horse actually eats. Fed as directed with common hay, the total diet comes in around 10%. Every diet is different, though — contact us and our consulting nutritionist will help you evaluate your horse’s full diet.

Never mix Total Feeds horse feeds with other feeds. Give your horse 24 hours of hay and water, then start feeding LNSC.
