Complete nutrition for every dog. All life stages.

Total Canine® is a complete, extruded dog food formulated for maximum health, growth, and reproduction — built on the same principle as every Total Feeds formula: feed the gut. The gut takes care of the body.

Dr. Anderson formulates for dogs the way he formulates for horses, cattle, and goats — because every animal is built from cells that need the same micronutrients. Nutrition only counts if the animal absorbs it.

A light, highly digestible kibble your dog actually absorbs — so more of every bag becomes nutrition instead of waste.

Minerals bonded for absorption. Stronger bone and muscle, better coats, real mineral nutrition that gets used instead of passed.

Ascophyllum nodosum, harvested from cold North Atlantic waters. A natural source of trace minerals and bioactive compounds that support gut health — in every Total Feeds formula since day one.

Four live probiotic strains are built into the formula — Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei, Bifidobacterium bifidum, and Enterococcus faecium.

Dr. Anderson’s whole philosophy rests on the digestive tract: every animal is built from cells that need the same micronutrients, and a healthy gut is full of helpful single celled bacteria. So he put the bacteria in the bag.

Owners notice. One of them put it plainly:

  • My Biewer Terriers experienced many episodes of loose stools until a good friend of mine recommended Total Feeds, which includes probiotics. The pups responded positively and immediately to the change in diet. I am grateful for this dog food!

  • We have used total canine for years with fantastic results. When our Aussie started to drop off with a bad coat and appetite we decided to switch. She immediately picked up. I made the gradual complete switch to straight total canine for all four dogs (including a high energy LGD, a low energy heeler cross, and a crazy energy small terrier mix) all four are thriving! I feed less food and they all hunt for it, I very highly recommend!

  • I have my 7 yr old bloodhound on this. 4 cups a day. We tried this bc she had really bad odor and after switching to this, the odor is basically gone and her coat and weight look perfect. She used to be a picky eater too, but loves this.

  • This dog food is perfect for all dogs. Even those with sensitive digestive systems. I feed it to English bulldogs, Working border collies, and mixed breeds.

Simple — a measuring cup and the chart on the bag. Full feeding directions below.

Switching to Total Canine? Transition gradually over seven days.

Don’t see it at your feed store? Ask them to order it — they can.

Many things influence proper food intake for dogs. Use the chart as a guideline and feed the amount that achieves the body condition you consider best for your dog. A visible waist from above and ribs that are not evident but easily felt under the coat are good indicators.
